Moshoeshoe I

Moshoeshoe I was the founder and first king of the Basotho nation, uniting communities in the 19th century and establishing the Kingdom of Lesotho.

Lifaqane: A period of upheaval and population displacement in southern Africa during the early 19th century. These conflicts reshaped the region in which Moshoeshoe built a refuge and political following.
