Mozambican Civil War

The Mozambican Civil War was a conflict between the FRELIMO government and RENAMO insurgents from 1977 to 1992. It ended with the General Peace Agreement signed in Rome.

RENAMO: The Mozambican National Resistance, an armed movement that fought the FRELIMO government during the civil war. RENAMO waged the insurgency against FRELIMO and received support from neighboring governments.
Mozambican War of Independence: An armed struggle from 1964 to 1974 that ended Portuguese colonial rule in Mozambique. FRELIMO emerged from this liberation war as the ruling party of independent Mozambique.
