New York City Ballet

New York City Ballet is an American ballet company co-founded by George Balanchine and Lincoln Kirstein in 1948. Its repertory is especially associated with Balanchine’s neoclassical choreography.

George Balanchine: George Balanchine was a Georgian-American choreographer who helped establish neoclassical ballet in the United States. As founding artistic director, he created much of the company’s defining repertory.
School of American Ballet: The School of American Ballet is a professional ballet school in New York City founded by Lincoln Kirstein and George Balanchine. It trains many dancers who join the company and shares its artistic lineage.
