Orion

Orion is a prominent constellation near the celestial equator, depicted in Greek tradition as a hunter. Its bright stars include Betelgeuse and Rigel.

Betelgeuse: A red supergiant star marking Orion’s shoulder and one of the brightest stars in the night sky. Its reddish color and position define one corner of Orion’s familiar outline.
Celestial sphere: An imaginary sphere centered on Earth onto which celestial objects are projected for describing their positions. Orion’s position is mapped on this apparent sky surrounding Earth.
Greek mythology: The body of myths and religious stories told by ancient Greek communities about gods, heroes, and the world. Greek accounts made Orion a hunter among the stars.

Osiris: An ancient Egyptian god associated with death, resurrection, and kingship. Some Egyptian traditions linked the stellar figure Sah, in Orion’s region, with Osiris.
