Ottonian dynasty

The Ottonian dynasty was a Saxon ruling house whose kings governed East Francia and the Holy Roman Empire from 919 to 1024.

Henry the Fowler: King of East Francia from 919 to 936 and founder of Ottonian royal rule. His election established the dynasty’s rule before his son Otto succeeded him.
Imperial coronation of Otto I: The 962 coronation in Rome that made Otto I emperor. It formalized the dynasty’s claim to rule an empire beyond East Francia.
