Oviposition

Oviposition is the act of depositing eggs at a location suited to offspring development. It occurs across egg-laying animals, including insects, fish, amphibians, reptiles, and birds.

Ovipositor: An egg-laying organ, often a tube or appendage, used by many insects and some other animals. In many insects, this structure guides eggs into soil, plants, hosts, or other sites.
Biological pest control: The suppression of pests using living organisms or their products. Manipulating egg-laying sites can help attract or divert pest insects.
