Pakistan Army

Pakistan’s land warfare service, responsible for defending the country and conducting military operations. It has also exercised substantial influence over Pakistan’s political history.

Chief of Army Staff (Pakistan): The senior professional military appointment in the Pakistan Army, held by the officer who commands the service. This office leads the Army’s chain of command and has often carried political weight.

Yahya Khan: A Pakistani general and president from 1969 to 1971, who oversaw the 1971 crisis and war. His leadership linked Army rule to the political crisis that preceded Bangladesh’s independence.
Pakistan Air Force: Pakistan’s air warfare service, responsible for defending national airspace and conducting military aviation operations. It complements the Army’s ground forces with air defense and aerial capabilities.
Pakistan Military Academy: Pakistan’s officer-training institution at Kakul, where cadets receive professional military education. It supplies commissioned officers and shapes the Army’s professional culture.
Indo-Pakistani War of 1965: A war between India and Pakistan fought mainly along their international border and in Kashmir in 1965. The conflict tested the Army’s doctrine and became a defining episode in its public history.
