Pan-American Highway

A network of roads linking North, Central, and South America. Its principal route has a major uncompleted gap through the Darién region between Panama and Colombia.

Darién Gap: A roadless, largely forested region between Panama and Colombia that interrupts the Pan-American Highway. This is the network’s principal break, preventing continuous overland travel between the two countries.
