People's Action Party

Singapore’s major political party, it has governed continuously since the country became self-governing in 1959. Its long rule has shaped Singapore’s institutions, economy, and political life.

Lee Kuan Yew: Singaporean politician who served as prime minister from 1959 to 1990 and helped found the People's Action Party. He led the party’s rise and Singapore’s government through independence and its early decades.
