Permanent revolution

Permanent revolution is Leon Trotsky’s theory that Russia’s democratic revolution would have to develop into socialist rule and continue internationally, because a workers’ government could not endure in isolation.

Uneven and combined development: A theory that societies develop at different speeds while combining advanced and archaic forms. Trotsky used this pattern to explain how a relatively backward Russia could face socialist tasks.
