Prithviraj Chauhan

Prithviraj Chauhan was a 12th-century ruler of the Chahamana dynasty who governed Ajmer and Delhi and fought Muhammad of Ghor.

First Battle of Tarain: A 1191 battle in which Prithviraj Chauhan's forces defeated Muhammad of Ghor's army. This victory established Prithviraj's military strength against Ghurid expansion.
Ajmer: A city in Rajasthan, India, founded as a Chahamana political center in the eleventh century. Ajmer was the core of Prithviraj's inherited kingdom.
Chand Bardai: A poet traditionally credited with composing the medieval Hindi epic Prithviraj Raso. The poem attributed to him became the most influential heroic account of Prithviraj.
