Pyrrhonism

Pyrrhonism is an ancient Greek tradition of skepticism that recommends withholding judgment when arguments seem balanced. It presents tranquility as a consequence of this suspension.

Epicureanism: Epicureanism is a philosophy founded by Epicurus that identifies pleasure, understood chiefly as freedom from distress, as the highest good. Both connect calm with a way of life, but Epicureans affirm a physical theory Pyrrhonists avoid.
Equipollence: Equipollence is the condition in which opposing arguments or appearances seem equally persuasive. It supplies the recurring reason to suspend judgment rather than choose a side.
Non-assertion: Non-assertion is refraining from affirming or denying a proposition as true. It captures how Pyrrhonists avoid turning suspension into a rival doctrine.
