Rachel Carson

Rachel Carson (1907–1964) was an American marine biologist and writer whose books explained the natural world and warned about the ecological harms of pesticides.

Silent Spring: Rachel Carson’s 1962 book documenting ecological harms associated with synthetic pesticides. This book brought her pesticide research to a mass audience and helped catalyze environmental activism.
