Roman military reforms

Roman military reforms were changes to the recruitment, organization, equipment, training, and command of Rome’s armed forces across the Republic and Empire.

Marian reforms: A set of late Republican military changes associated with Gaius Marius, including broader recruitment of citizens without property. They are traditionally linked to the shift toward recruiting poorer citizens into the legions.
