Satyendra Nath Bose

Satyendra Nath Bose was an Indian theoretical physicist whose 1924 work on photon statistics, developed with Albert Einstein, established Bose–Einstein statistics and inspired the name boson.

Bose–Einstein statistics: A quantum statistical distribution for indistinguishable particles with integer spin, which can share the same quantum state. Bose derived this distribution for photons, and Einstein extended it to material particles.
Bose's 1924 paper: A paper deriving Planck’s radiation law by counting photon states without distinguishing individual photons. This paper introduced the statistical method that became Bose–Einstein statistics.
