Scottish monarchy

The Scottish monarchy was the institution of royal rule in Scotland, exercised by monarchs whose authority and realm changed across dynasties, unions, and territorial transformations.

Kenneth MacAlpin: A ninth-century king traditionally credited with uniting the Picts and Scots under one dynasty. His reign anchors the traditional beginnings of a unified Scottish kingship.
David I of Scotland: King of Scots from 1124 to 1153, associated with major administrative and ecclesiastical reforms. His reign strengthened royal institutions and reshaped the kingdom’s ties to Europe.
