Siege of Acre (1291)

The Mamluk siege that captured Acre, the principal remaining mainland stronghold of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, in May 1291. Its fall ended Crusader rule in the city and accelerated the loss of the remaining mainland territories.

Khalil ibn Qalawun: The Mamluk sultan who led the campaign that captured Acre in 1291. His army directed the siege and took the city after weeks of assault.
Siege of Tripoli (1289): The Mamluk siege that captured the Crusader city of Tripoli in 1289. Its success left Acre as the principal mainland Crusader stronghold.
Henry II of Cyprus: King of Cyprus from 1285 to 1324 and titular king of Jerusalem. He came to Acre during the siege but withdrew before its final fall.
