Soviet–Japanese War

The August 1945 conflict in which the Soviet Union attacked Japanese forces in Manchuria, Korea, and nearby territories. It ended Japanese rule in parts of Northeast Asia and hastened Japan’s surrender.

Operation August Storm: The Soviet strategic offensive launched on 9 August 1945 against Japanese forces in Manchuria. This operation was the war’s central campaign, combining deep advances from multiple directions.

Battle of Khingan: Soviet operations across the Greater Khingan Mountains during the 1945 invasion of Manchuria. The mountain crossing helped Soviet forces attack Japanese positions from an unexpected direction.
