Spring and Autumn Annals

An ancient Chinese chronicle of the state of Lu covering 722–481 BCE, traditionally associated with Confucius. Its terse entries record political events and became the focus of competing interpretive traditions.

Lu (state): A Zhou-era Chinese state centered in the region of modern Shandong. Its court supplied the chronicle’s setting and annalistic records.
