Statute of Westminster 1931

A British act that recognized the legislative equality and autonomy of the self-governing Dominions within the British Empire, limiting the British Parliament’s authority over them.

Balfour Declaration of 1926: A declaration defining Britain and its Dominions as autonomous communities equal in status, united by allegiance to the Crown. Its account of Dominion equality supplied the constitutional principle the statute put into law.
