Subantarctic

The high-southern-latitude region north of Antarctica, encompassing parts of the Southern Ocean and nearby islands. Its boundaries vary by geographic, climatic, and ecological definition.

Southern Ocean: The ocean surrounding Antarctica, extending northward to the subtropical convergence. The Subantarctic occupies its northern reaches and adjoining islands.
