Tilopa

Tilopa was an Indian Buddhist mahasiddha traditionally regarded as Nāropa’s teacher and a foundational figure in the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.

Nāropa: An Indian Buddhist mahasiddha traditionally identified as Tilopa’s principal disciple and the source of teachings transmitted to Marpa. Tilopa’s student Nāropa became the principal link between Tilopa’s teachings and Tibetan Kagyu history.
Mahasiddha: A tantric Buddhist or Hindu adept reputed to have attained extraordinary spiritual realization and powers. Tilopa belongs to the tradition of Indian accomplished adepts celebrated in tantric biographies.
