Ugyen Wangchuck

Ugyen Wangchuck (1862–1926) was Bhutan’s first Druk Gyalpo, or hereditary king. He unified the country and ruled from 1907 until his death.

Wangchuck dynasty: The Bhutanese royal dynasty founded by Ugyen Wangchuck in 1907. Ugyen established this dynasty when he became Bhutan’s first hereditary king.
