Ultra

Ultra was the intelligence derived from decrypting encrypted Axis communications during World War II, especially German Enigma and Lorenz traffic. It was protected by strict secrecy and used to inform Allied military decisions.

Bletchley Park: The British wartime codebreaking center where Allied cryptanalysts decrypted Axis communications. Its teams and facilities produced much of the intelligence designated Ultra.
Polish Cipher Bureau: The Polish military organization that made major prewar advances in solving German Enigma ciphers. Its methods and shared findings gave British codebreakers a vital starting point.

Battle of Midway: A June 1942 Pacific battle in which United States forces defeated a Japanese carrier fleet. Its intelligence breakthrough came from decrypting Japanese codes, a distinct effort from Ultra's European focus.
