USB

USB (Universal Serial Bus) is a standard for connecting electronic devices and transferring data and electrical power between them. It defines connectors, cables, communication protocols, and power-delivery rules.

USB host: The device that controls a USB bus and initiates communication with connected peripherals. A host manages device discovery and schedules USB data transfers.
USB Type-C: A reversible USB connector system with a compact, 24-pin receptacle and plug. Type-C describes the connector shape, not the data protocol or guaranteed speed.

USB mass storage device class: A USB device class that lets storage devices expose block-based data to a host. It enables flash drives and many external disks to work through a common interface.
DisplayPort: A digital display interface for transmitting video and audio from a source to a display. DisplayPort is a dedicated display protocol, though USB-C can carry it through alternate modes.
