Veliky Novgorod

Veliky Novgorod is a historic city in northwestern Russia on the Volkhov River, renowned as a medieval center of trade, political life, and literacy.

Novgorod First Chronicle: A medieval Russian chronicle preserving accounts of Novgorod and neighboring lands. Its entries offer one of the main written records of the city’s early history.
