Ahmed Ben Bella

Ahmed Ben Bella was an Algerian independence leader and politician who became independent Algeria’s first president, serving from 1963 until a military coup in 1965.

Houari Boumédiène: An Algerian military officer who led the 1965 coup that removed Ben Bella and later became president. As defense minister, he organized the coup that ended Ben Bella’s presidency.
