Deep operation

A Soviet military doctrine for breaking through tactical defenses and disrupting an enemy’s forces, command, and logistics throughout operational depth.

Deep battle: A Soviet operational concept for defeating an opponent through simultaneous action across the depth of a battlefield. Deep operation was the campaign-scale doctrine; deep battle described the coordinated fighting that drove it.
