Lucullus

Lucius Licinius Lucullus was a Roman general and statesman who commanded the eastern campaigns against Mithridates VI of Pontus and Tigranes II of Armenia.

Battle of Tigranocerta: A Roman victory in 69 BCE in which Lucullus defeated Tigranes II near his new Armenian capital. Lucullus’s bold attack on Tigranes’s larger force became his most celebrated victory.
