Mole

The SI base unit of amount of substance. One mole contains exactly 6.02214076 × 10²³ specified entities, fixing the numerical value of the Avogadro constant.

Avogadro constant: The number of specified elementary entities per mole, exactly 6.02214076 × 10²³ mol⁻¹. Its fixed numerical value defines the mole.
Molar mass: The mass of one mole of a specified substance, usually expressed in grams per mole. It converts between a sample's mass and its amount in moles.
Wilhelm Ostwald: A German chemist who introduced the term “mol” in the late nineteenth century. His terminology helped establish the name for a unit of chemical amount.
