Syrian independence

Syrian independence was the process by which Syria ended French mandatory rule and became an independent state in 1946.

French Mandate for Syria and the Lebanon: The League of Nations mandate under which France governed Syria and Lebanon from 1923 to 1946. Its transfer of authority to Syria was the central political change independence ended.
