Timurid dynasty

The Timurid dynasty was founded by Timur and ruled parts of Central Asia and Iran from the late fourteenth century. Its princes patronized distinctive Persianate art, architecture, and scholarship.

Timur: Timur was a Central Asian conqueror who founded the Timurid Empire and ruled from 1370 to 1405. His military campaigns established the dynasty and its first territories.
Timurid succession: Timurid succession was the practice by which Timur’s descendants competed for rulership and territorial authority. The absence of a fixed inheritance rule repeatedly reshaped the realm.
