Paul-Henri Spaak

Paul-Henri Spaak was a Belgian statesman who served as prime minister and foreign minister, helping shape European integration and the founding of NATO.

Jean Monnet: A French economic planner and political visionary who helped design European integration. Monnet and Spaak jointly advanced the European Coal and Steel Community and the common market.
Treaty of Rome: The 1957 treaties that established the European Economic Community and the European Atomic Energy Community. Spaak chaired the committee whose report shaped the negotiations leading to these treaties.
